and
2002
September is Shoreline Celebration and
Restoration Month. Join The Living by Water
Project in celebrating our
connection to Canadas waterways!
The goal of Shoreline
Celebration and Restoration Month is to raise awareness about the
importance and value of healthy, natural shorelines. During September 2001 and
2002, we
want to involve citizens across Canada in celebrating, protecting,
conserving and
restoring shorelines in their communities.

Shoreline Celebration and
Restoration Month Info Kits
Over 1400 of these
snazzy little folders were sent out to municipalities, regional
districts,
First Nation Band Councils, naturalists clubs and stewardship and
conservation
groups across western Canada. The info-kits alerted
communities to the Shoreline
Celebration and Restoration Month initiative
and were a valuable resource tool for helping
groups to plan shoreline
related events and activities.
The info kits are still available
upon request. Information includes: ideas for events
and activities; how to
obtain community support; who to involve in your activity; where to
look
for funding; a general planning checklist; and ideas for promoting your event.
